I tested this issue last week for a fellow Zhou Shen fan at my university. When she tried to catch the Hangzhou concert ticket sale previously, she couldn't load the live stream in Singapore. By the time she saw the ticket sale notification forwarded in the fan group, 3 minutes had passed and all floor seats were gone. This time, she asked me to test every possible method in advance to avoid the same mistake.
Let me start with the core reason for the restriction: Zhou Shen's concert ticket sale live streams are usually broadcast on the official WeChat Channel and Douyin accounts of Damai and Maoyan. These platforms' live content is only accessible to mainland China IPs by default. If you use a Singapore IP, you'll get a "This content is not available in your current region" pop-up when you enter the live room, or you won't even be able to find the live stream entry at all. It's not a problem with your internet, it's just an IP restriction.
I tested 3 methods, you can choose according to your own situation:
The first is to ask a friend in China to share their screen with you. I tested WeChat screen sharing last week: my friend in Guangzhou connected to their home wifi to play the live stream, and I connected using Singtel's 1Gbps broadband in Singapore. The tested latency was stable at 7-12 seconds, the maximum resolution was only 720P, and occasionally it would lag into a slideshow due to WeChat's compression. This method is suitable for people who only need to catch the ticket sale time and don't have high requirements for real-time performance. If you want to grab front-row tickets, this latency is enough to make you slower than users in China, and if your friend's network fluctuates and disconnects, you won't even know when the ticket sale started. My friend used this method last time, and her friend took a phone call that disconnected the stream for 2 minutes, and all the tickets were gone when they came back.
The second method is to search for free proxy tools online. I tested 3 popular free proxies in Singapore, and the results were either that they couldn't connect to mainland China nodes, or after connecting, the platform detected the proxy and cut off the live stream directly. The one that finally worked had a latency of over 30 seconds, and the resolution was so blurry that I couldn't even read the subtitles showing the ticket sale time. Moreover, many free proxies have data leakage risks. If you log in to your Damai account to grab tickets later, using these proxies can easily lead to account theft, so they are not recommended at all.
The third method is QuickFox, which I have used for more than 3 years. This time, I specifically switched to the dedicated mainland China line node for testing the ticket sale live stream. After opening it, I directly searched for the official live stream entry on Douyin or WeChat Channel, and it loaded immediately. The tested latency was stable at 1-2 seconds, almost synchronized with the progress my friend in China was watching. The resolution could be adjusted to 1080P 60fps, and there were no region restriction pop-ups throughout the test. I specifically checked the time with my friend in China: when his screen showed 30 seconds countdown to the ticket sale, my stream showed the exact same time, with no time difference at all.
Let me tell you about a mistake I made before: I used another similar tool and selected a regular shared mainland China node. When there was a traffic peak like a ticket sale, the node crashed directly and couldn't load. This time, I selected the exclusive audio-visual dedicated line on QuickFox. I kept both the live stream and the Damai ticket grabbing page open during the test, and both were very stable, with no lag or disconnection.
There's a detail I need to remind you: turn on the tool 15 minutes before the ticket sale live stream starts, and test whether you can enter the live room normally. Don't rush to turn it on right before the stream starts, as that will waste time. If you need to grab tickets at the same time, it is recommended to connect the ticket grabbing platform to the same node to avoid being judged as abnormal by the platform due to switching IPs mid-process, which will affect your ticket grabbing.
My friend has finished testing and confirmed it works, and she has invited several other fans in Singapore from her fan group to use it too. The regret of not getting tickets for the Hangzhou station should be made up for this time. By the way, if you encounter slow page loading when grabbing tickets after watching the live stream, don't panic. As long as you are connected to a mainland China IP, refresh a few more times and it will load, which is much better than refreshing for a long time with a Singapore IP and getting nothing.
